Drifting away from old friends

"What is the feeling when you're driving away from people, and they recede on the plain till you see their specks dispersing? -it's the too huge world vaulting us, and it's good-bye. But we lean forward to the next crazy venture beneath the skies..." Jack Kerouac.

Funny how you drift away from some people. They change, you change, everyone change's and the only thing you have left in common are memories. When you're hanging by a thread, is it better to cut it loose after so long? Or try to build it back up again, knowing it will never be the same? I'm saying this after realizing I've put too much energy into those I used to be so close to but now rarely speak to...

Sometimes the past is best left as just that. I shall look forward to the future and what new people have to offer in my life path. There is not enough time, energy, or money to rebuild things when life is so busy.

We all come to the crossroad, and go different directions. We've shared the road behind, but look toward the road ahead alone - until we come across another person's path.

I love my past, present and future friendships- equal.

XOXO C
